Hello again from your compadres at Double Negative Records

Hello again from your compadres at Double Negative Records. Sorry we haven’t updated this thing for a couple months, but I swear that lots of cool things are in the works.

The Death of a Party is about to embark on their first national tour in support of Metric. They’ll spend most of November traipsing all the way from Seattle to Florida and hopefully not killing one another. They’ve also managed to sucker Deerhoof into playing a show with them. Check the shows page for all the details. Also, don’t miss their welcome home show on November 27th at the Lobot Gallery with the Mae Shi, The Pope, Battleship and the Mall. Can you say epic?

Postcoitus has been keeping a low profile after playing with underground rapper Busdriver in September. Maybe they’ve been basking in the glory of their recent nomination for an SF Weekly Music Award. We have no idea how this happened, but Postcoitus was nominated in the electro/electronic/experimental category. Unfortunately, the boys didn’t win but I’m pretty sure they enjoyed the festivities and especially the free drinks. Also helping to cheer them up is the fact that Postcoitus is going to be opening up for Andy Bell, lead singer of the band Erasure. We’re pretty excited. How could aging gay synthpop aficionados not love Postcoitus?

That’s it for now. Keep checking back – we hope to have an announcement very soon about some exciting developments for 2006. Double Negative is pretty much planning to take over.
