It’s still just a website for a fledgling Oakland record label, so it’s probably way more exciting for us than it is for you.

In other news, The Death of a Party’s new album, The Rise and Fall of Scarlet City, is going to be released on Tuesday, May 22nd. We’ve put up all the details on our releases page, along with the artwork and a couple tracks from the record for your listening enjoyment. The band is running up and down the west coast in May and the first wave of tour dates has been posted on our shows page. For all you Death of a Party fans not living on the West Coast, don’t fret because the band is planning a national tour for early July.

The rest of the Double Negative roster has also been busy. The Fucking Ocean is wrapping up their national tour and has a couple more shows booked in May, including a plum spot at the Mission Creek Music Festival. Battleship will also be playing a few shows in the months ahead and in great news for Oakland dance party aficionados, Postcoitus has decided to end their self-imposed “break from shows” and will be bringing the house down this Friday at the Uptown in downtown Oakland.

More exciting new happenings are coming in the months ahead. Yes, more exciting than an upgraded website. We promise.
