Emily Jane White in Europe and on vinyl

Just yesterday our beloved in-house chanteuse Emily Jane White hopped on a plane for Europe, as she’ll be spending the next couple of weeks gallivanting around France and Switzerland as part of the Les Femmes S’en Melent Festival. We don’t know what that means either, but the festival includes a bevy of female artists from around the globe, including Peaches, The Concretes, The Long Blondes, Lesbians on Ecstasy and a whole lot more. Of course, we’ve always thought that Emily should be rubbing elbows with that kind of elite company so it’s nice to know the rest of the world is catching up.

Go to our shows page for all the latest details of her European adventures. While there you can also find a few shows she’s lined up in May and June after she gets back to her native soil, including the Dark Undercoat vinyl release party on May 24 in Santa Rosa, CA. Our pals at Saint Rose Records are going to be releasing a limited run of the album on wax, so all you vinyl fiends should start counting your pennies now.

New Death of a Party EP now available for download!

Last month everyone’s favorite Oakland post-punk outfit unveiled Red Meadows, a self-released EP stuffed with new songs and remixes. Until now, the EP has only been available for download on websites like the Deli SF and whatever other blogs had picked it up.

As of today, Red Meadows has found a home on this website. Although the EP is not an official Double Negative release, we happen to think that it’s pretty damn good and wanted to make sure that as many Death of a Party fans as possible could hear it.

Go here to find all the details and download the EP. Let’s hope this doesn’t crash our server.

For those of you who would like to catch Death of a Party live, you will be happy to know that the boys have started playing a lot of shows again. Check out our shows page for their full calendar.
