Hello again Double Negatarians. That actually sounds pretty lame. We’ll come up with something better next time. Let’s just move on.
As we announced last month, the new album from The Death of a Party is coming - soon. It’s called The Rise and Fall of Scarlet City, and barring some sort of worldwide disaster will be released on May 22nd. Mark your calendars. Soon we’ll have more fun details and even some mp3s for you to digest. Just hold tight. The band is touring the west coast in May and will be doing a national tour in June, so keep checking our shows page if you want to get all up in their business in your very own hometown. The first batch of tour dates has already been posted.
In other news, The Fucking Ocean will be doing a national tour in April. Those dates have also been posted on our shows page. Don’t forget to get yourself a copy of their album Le Main Rouge, which we’re still digging around these parts.
Everyone is playing shows! Even the boys in Battleship have decided to resurrect themselves after a little hiatus and will be playing a few times in the months ahead. A couple dates have been posted on – guess where – our shows page.
That’s about all we’ve got for now. Stay tuned, because there is much more in store in 2007. Wow, that just sounds like a bad commercial. Apparently our “witty banter” function is on the fritz today. Please bear with us.

Feliz año Double Negative diehards. I realize it’s a bit late but at least we didn’t say Happy Holidays. Perhaps you thought we had fallen asleep around here but I assure you that Double Negative land has been quietly abuzz with activity.
First of all, we’re happy to report that The Death of a Party is finally releasing their long-awaited debut full-length album. Entitled The Rise and Fall of Scarlet City, we’re planning for a May 22nd release date. We know it’s taken awhile but it will be worth the wait. Keep checking back here for more information and eventually we’ll toss up a few mp3 files for you to sample. Also, watch for Death of a Party tour dates coming to a town near you. The band is currently planning two tours – a short West Coast jaunt in May and a longer national outing in June. Hit the band up on myspace or something if you can hook them up with some good spots to play. In the meantime, Death of a Party has been invited to take part in the 2007 Noise Pop Festival. They’ll be opening up for Autolux (one of our favorite bands). Check the shows page for details.
In other exciting news, The Fucking Ocean album is out and being met with overwhelming approval. Since its November release, it’s been selling like hotcakes and getting airplay from disgruntled college radio DJs across the nation. If you haven’t got yourself a copy, you can order it directly from this website or by walking down to your local record shop. If they don’t have it in stock, ask them nicely to order it from the fine folks at Revolver.
Current shows for The Death of a Party and The Fucking Ocean have been posted on our shows page. The Fucking Ocean also plans on touring this spring, so keep checking back for more details.
Basically, just keep checking back all the time. It’s an insane party here and you don’t want to miss a moment, do you? And buy some stuff while you’re here.

Hello again.
Well, we’re happy to report that the Double Negative gang managed to attend CMJ and get itself back home in one piece. The week was a blur of shows, parties and lots of pizza. I don’t think the boys from Postcoitus will ever get over the greatness of chicken bacon pizza.
Now that we’re back home in The Town (That’s Oakland for those of you who aren’t down with the street), we’re getting back to business. November is all about The Fucking Ocean. Their debut album Le Main Rouge comes out next Tuesday, November 14th and they’ll soon be home from their whirlwind US tour. For you Bay Area kids, don’t miss the big CD release show at Bottom of the Hill on Thursday, November 16th. Check the shows page for all the details. If you want to preview the album or buy it online directly from us, take a look at our releases page.
In other Double Negative news, Death of a Party have finished their new album. We’ll be releasing it in early 2007. In the meantime, they have a few shows lined up, including a Double Negative showcase on December 2nd at the Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco. They’ll be joined by The Fucking Ocean and Postcoitus.
That’s about it. Do yourself a favor and order the new album form The Fucking Ocean. You won’t be sorry. We won’t be either, because putting out records is fucking expensive so we need money.
